DESCENT

A descent can be defined as a decline or downward slope. Deep emotional loss or grief transforms the incline into a precipitous spiral. Descent is a six-part installation which references geologic terms to suggest the relationship between the matter and mind.

DESCENT is composed of six pulsed light images

The light and dark patterns across the figurative works of DESCENT reflect the micro-movements of blood, breath or muscle tension from within the body captured by two laser exposures one millionth of a second apart.
